Subject: Mahalo from Maui!!
My wife and I had tickets for these shows. It was going to be our 35th wedding anniversary trip and our first visit back to Oregon in the 11 years since we moved here to Maui.

Sunshine's mom is our next door neighbor here on Maui and through her, Sunshine was even going to get us backstage.

Unfortunately, my wife hurt her back 2 weeks before the shows and doctor said she can't fly for at least a month.

We had to sell the tickets and eat an $80 loss on those plus airfare, etc.

BUT - thanks to these outrageously high quality recordings, we get to hear what we missed.

Thank you Chris - you did a great job and since we've seen many shows at the Cuthbert while we lived there, I can close my eyes and imagine myself at the concerts.

Aloha from Maui and truly - mahalo nui loa

Subject: Funky show
After two soaring nights, this was the funky night, just didn't know what to expect next.

John did not sing much this night, but I said hello to him at the hotel earlier in the day and he sounded like he had a cold.

Plus it was a cold night.

All that being said, highlight might have been the Don't Ease Me In, as John ripped and jumped around the stage for the closing notes.

This is Furthur, not the Grateful Dead, so anyone who comes out expecting it sound like the past is sadly misguided. What is does sound like is a band ripping up great tunes that we all love in a great scene that we are honored to be a part of.

Saw the first two shows, missed this one, so thanks for the quick turnaround AND thanks for the outstanding, pristine quality of these recordings. The first two nights in Eugene only confirmed to me that this band has risen to a whole new level in playing. John K is really stepping up in confidence, Bob sang and played great this run, reall, everyone was a notch or two above and beyond. Most impressive all around. The Friday and Saturday shows surpassed many Dead shows I have been to---a high bar has been raised once again.

Subject: Get on the Bus Again
I'm totally with you, Greg. This band is super hot and different. They're in the perfect place at the perfect time. Just come out and see them and your socks will be knocked off! I hope they keep playin' and playin' cuz I want to hear every show from now until the last one, bar none . . . this is another golden age, friends, get on the bus!

Not only do these recordings sound great, but the fact that you had them up at the archive every morning after the shows is worthy of the highest commendation. Great playing from the band and great recordings of the performances!

Subject: Thanks! Great Shows and Recordings!
Chris--

Thanks for your efforts! I was at these recordings every morning, and I have enjoyed following this tour stop in Eugene. Thanks to you and all the tapers!

It is the great playing by this band that makes this all happen, of course, and they are in fine form. The quality of the vocals really stands out for me. All are great, but Bob really soars in my view. Again, no complaints about anyone else, but John is not waiting for an invite anymore. The Mason's here from night three is a great example.

I see so many cranking comments on the various boards, which is puzzling. Great songs, great playing, and a storied past--what a great time for people around the country to get out and see these guys play!

I am looking forward to the future stops, and I hope there are some tapers at the ready in Montana and Utah! No doubts about RR.

Thanks to all!
